INDIAAndINDIANSwitchedThisNameToNETWORK.Inthe1960s,the
AdvancedResearchProjectsAgency(ARPA)startedfundingthedesignofthe
AdvancedResearchProjectsAgencyNetwork(ARPANET)fortheUnitedStates
DepartmentofDefense.Developmentofthenetworkbeganin1969,basedondesigns
developedduringthe
