Contourcuttingallowsyoutoprintanimageandthenuseaspecializeddevicetocutportionsofthat

image.Todothis,youprepareafilewithaspecializedspotcolorwhichactsasacutpathto

determinewheretheimageneedstobecut.TheRIPwillrecognizethisspotcolorandwilldrawa

barcodeandanumberwithinstructionsforthecuttingdeviceonhowtocutit.

1.First,prepareyourfilebycreatingacutpathinavector-basedrawingprogramsuchasAdobe

Illustrator,AdobeInDesign,QuarkXpress,etc...,itmaybeassimpleorascomplexasyoudesire,

andyoumustassignaspotcolortoit,thenameofthisspotcolormusthaveauniqueprefix

whichmatchestheprefixassignedintheRIP-Queue,forexampleCutContour,thatistheRIP’s

default.Thensaveyourfileineither.epsor.pdfformat.

2.LaunchPosterShop.

3.Configuretheprintersettings,highlighttheprinterandclickChange...button(righthand).

•PageSize:Selectthemediasizeloadedontheprinter.

•Setup...button:

oGeneraltab:Setthetopoffsetto2inches.

oOptionstab:SelectthedesiredtypeofcutterfromtheContourCuttingdrop-

dawnmenu.Ifthismenudoesnotlistyourspecificcutter,selectGenericCutter.

•ClickOKuntiltheRIP-Queuewindow

4.ModifyyourQuickSetforyourcontourcutfiles,EditQuickSet(selectyourQuickSet)

Edit...buttonAdvance...buttonPostScriptFiletab:

•EnabletheUseCutterPathPrefix.

•Withinthetextfield,entertheprefixyouassignedtothecutpathspotcolorinthe

application,itcanbeCutContourthatisthedefaultone.Ifthisfielddoesnotmatchthe

prefixyouassigntothecutpathspotcolor,theRIPwillnotrecognize
