environmentalprocessesthathaveadamagingeffectonpeople.Naturaldisasterscancome
inmanyforms:suchasgeological（地质的）eventslikeearthquakes,tsunamisormud-rock
flows,climatic（气候的）eventslikestorms,hurricanesortornadoesandfireeventslike
forestfiresandwildfires.
Thedamagedonebynaturaldisastersismainlyasaresultofourinabilitytopredict
exactlywhentheywillhappen.Althoughgreatprogresshasbeenmadeindesigningand
developingforecastingmodels（预测模型）forsomenaturaldisasters,completecertaintyis
stillimpossible.Eventobepessimistic（悲观地说）,thereisapossibilitythathumanbeings
willneverachieveaccurateprediction（准确预测）ofthehappeningofallnaturaldisasters.
What’smore,eventhoughwewereabletopredictthesedisastersfromnature,
preventingthemisequallyimpossible.Soweonlyhavetwowaystobothpreventinjuriesor

aretopreparebeforeanaturaldisastercomestohit,andtomanagethenecessaryresources
