    testthebasichardwareandsoftwarefunctionsofyourFM451andobtainandcheckthe

    application-dependentparameters.Thereferencestothemanualwillalsohelpyoutogetageneral

    overviewoftheinformationitcontains.

    Dependingonyourdegreeofexperience,workingthroughthesamplewilltakweenoneandtwo

    hours.

    Requirements

    Thefollowingrequirementsmustbemet:

    YouhaveanS7-400stationconsistingofapowersupplyandaCPU.

    YouhaveinstalledSTEP7(.V4.02)correctlyonyourprogrammingdevice.Pleasenote,however,that

    theinstructionsbelowrelatetoSTEP7(V5.0).

    YouhavecreatedaprojectfortheS7-400station.

    TheprogrammingdeviceisconnectedtotheCPU.

    YouhaveanFM451module,theconfigurationpackagebelongingtotheFM451,anexternal24VDC

    powersupply,anencoder,adrive,andtherequiredaccessoriessuchasfrontconnectors,andwiring.

    Toprotectbothyourequipmentandnel,youhaveprovidedhardwarelimitswitchesandan

    EMERGENCYSTOPswitch.

    InstalltheConfigurationPackageontheProgrammingDevice

    TheconfigurationpackagecontainstheconfigurationsoftwarefortheFM451,therequiredfunctions

    (FCs)andthedatastructures(UDTs)aswellasasampleprojectwithsampleprograms.

    InserttheCDinyourCDdrive.

    StartthesoftwareinstallationdialoginWindowsbydouble-clickingthe“Add/RemovePrograms”iconin

    the“ControlPanel”.

    ClicktheInstall...button,selecttheSetup.exefileintheFMx51\Disk1folderontheCDandfollowthe

    instructionsdisplayedbytheinstallationprogram.

    InstallandWireuptheFM451

    TurnoffthepowersupplyandchangethemodeselectorontheCPUtoSTOP.
