3SurfersAgainstSewage，anenvironmentalcharityinEngland，organizedtheproject.HugoTagholm，theheadofthecharity，said，“Wearehopingthecampaignwillgivepeopletheopportunitytoreconnectwithnatureandpromotehealth，aswellashavingapositiveimpactonouroceansandwildlife.”Thecleanupisnotonlyfocusedonbeaches，asTagholmexplained，“Wealsoencouragepeopletotackleplasticonstreets，oncountrylanes，inparksandalonglocalwaterways.”

4Therearenearly600registeredcleanupstakingplaceandanyonecanjoininwiththem，orevenstarttheirown“miniclean”withfewerthan10people.Thecampaignswebsitehasalistofallthecleansthataretakingplacearoundthecountry，includinginparks，alongriversandonstreets.Italsoexplainshowyoucanstartoneinyourowncommunity.
