is

developing

fast

mainly

because

of

the

foster

of

technology

development

initiative,

the

support

from

the

government

FIT

(Feed‐in‐tariff),

favorable

legal

framework

and

the

investment

zealousness.

Higher

demand

for

solar

energy

is

also

triggered

by

the

concern

of

global

warming,

driving

a

fourfold

increase

in

annual

revenues

of

the

global

solar

equipment

industry

from

$20Bn

in

2006

to

$90Bn

in

20103.

According

to

Solarbuzz

market

forecasts,

demand

for

solar

energy

will

raise

to

the

range

from

4.2

GW

to

7.6

GW

by

2010(details

will

be

demonstrated

later

in

the

supply

and

demand

section),

with

actual

amount

varied

under

different

scenarios.

PV

cell

production

output

will

increase

from

0.9

GW

in

2003

to

5.9—10

GW

by

2010,

CAGR

is

estimated

range

at

39%

to

44%

under

different

scenarios.

Meanwhile,

solar

energy

is

still

expensive

compared

to

the

other

substitutes

nowadays.

Currently,

the

real

bottleneck

of

PV

industry

turns

out

to

be

the

shortage

supply

of

raw

material

at

the

upstream

end
