Contextandbackground

ThismasterplaniscommissionedbytheEconomicResearchInstituteforASEANandEastAsia(ERIA)

withthesupportfromtheCoordinatingMinistryforEconomicAffairsinIndonesia(CMEA)andtheMinistry

ofEconomy,TradeandIndustryJapan(METI),anddraftedbyTheBostonConsultingGroup(BCG).

ThisworkiscarriedoutinclosecollaborationwithERIA,CMEAandMETIalongwithgovernmentofficials

fromvariousministriesandkeyacademiciansinIndonesia.

Thismasterplanmapsoutthestrategyforimplementingtheoveralleconomicandsocialdevelopmentof

corridor.Itservesasareferencedocumentforthesubsequentimplementationofthemasterplan.

ThedocumentationshouldbereadinconjunctionwithverbalcommentaryfromtheBCGteamtoprovide

greatercontextofbackgroundandrelatedinsights.Readingthisdocumentationinisolation,couldresult

indifferentinterpretationsotherthanthoseintendedbyBCGteam.
