Out of the discussion of the definition of homographs themselves, the examples of homographs in Sichuan dialect Dictionary are listed, especially through some examples of words used to feel the charm of dialect pragmatics in a specific context. Through the classification and processing of the examples, several different forms of homographs are clearly displayed. Several kinds of characters often mentioned in ancient Chinese are compared with homographs, such as the differences from polysemous characters, polyphonic characters, false borrowed characters and complex and simple characters, so that they are becoming more and more into a simple word, so as to make them more and more different from polysemous characters, polyphonic characters, false borrowed characters and complex and simple characters. The independent research direction, which is independent from the study of characters, is not only closely related to other characters, but also can be distinguished from other characters through its essential characteristics, which is the key to make homographs independent from a science.
