As we know, writing is a higher stage of language learning. For Senior one students, writing task is a big challenge, which tests their comprehensive language ability. Due to this, we should schedule a gradual guiding process in the period. At the beginning of the class, I create a situation where they may experience the real transport conditions in out city, making use of the reading material of “Writing” part in the textbook. Then, as a guider, I try to inspire the students to make every effort to recall what they have learned regarding the topic. At the same time, to practise writing is also important. Finally, according to the evaluation standards, students should rewrite their writing and write a complete letter of advice after class to further consolidate what we have learned in class. Teaching Objectives After this lesson, the students are expected to: Improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities through various activities; Care about the transport conditions around us, and have a stronger sense of social responsibility; Think creatively to solve problems, and think about how to solve problems in a scientific way; Enhance their interest in English and their ability to think and express in English. Teaching Important Points and Teaching Difficult Points Teaching Important Points:Develop students’ writing ability by helping the students to get familiar with the writing process of a suggestive letter. Teaching Difficult Points:Enable the students to figure out how to offer suggestions, the framework of a letter of advice, how to polish the sentences in a composition, and how to use some linking words .
