Rose: I think that would be really tough – long hours, and very boring.
Vivian: OK, not waiter then. But don’t worry, we’ll find you something! Let me see.
Security guard?
Rose: Sounds terrible! I would need to work at night, and the money isn’t good.
Vivian: Hmmmm – OK, that’s not the right job, but I’m sure we can find something for
you! A-ha! Shop assistant at the local supermarket?
Rose: I don’t think I would enjoy that.
Vivian: OK… maybe that wouldn’t be great, but how about this? There’s a job in the
bank…
Rose: Sounds interesting… l me more…
Vivian: They need a cleaner.
The uses ‘would’because they are…
sure they want to do thejob or just thinking about the idea. ?
Listen again, and focus on the sound of ‘would.’
