Its history can be traced back to the casting and heat treatment specialty, which were established in 1959. The material forming and control engineering specialty is geared to the needs of the material and equipment manufacturing industry, taking strengthening foundation, widening specialty, intensifying ability and improving quality as the guiding ideology, highlighting the professional characteristics of “based on the forming processes and attaching importance to both material and equipment”. This major have formed the talent cultivation system of material forming processes covered completely, thick foundation, wide-caliber. This specialty was selected to the national characteristic specialty construction point in 2008, the national teaching team in 2010, the Plan for Educating and Training Outstanding Engineers in 2011 and the national local colleges professional comprehensive reform
