Preparation of High Porosity Supermacroporous Polystyrene Materials by HIPEs
HIPEs are concentrated emulsion systems possessing a volume of internal phase more than 74%,
meanwhile the spherical droplets of dispersed phase are deformed into polyhedra and separated by thin
fi of continuous phase.
It has been considered as one of the most efficient methods for preparing highly porous and permeable
polymeric materials with well-defined porosity and low foam density.

water droplets-in-oil droplets-in-water (W/O/W) or oil droplets-in-
water droplets-in-oil (O/W/O).

problem.
