Teaching contents:
Phrase: I like/ love…, like to …,
Expression: talk about animals (its feature, habitat, habit, etc.).
Teaching goals:
1. Ss can express what they like and talk about the reason.
2. Ss can describe animals by using “They’ve got …” “They live …” “They like/love …” and so on.
3. Ss can understand there’s nothing totally different with the others, it’s just the way people look makes it different.
Important and difficult point:
Ss can talk about what they like, what an animal is like.
Teaching aids: blackboard, PPT, computer.
Teaching procedure:
Greetings.
Warming up leading in.
①.Ss watch the video of M7U2① without subtitles and answer the questions.
Q: Where are the Smart family?(An: In the zoo.)
How do you know?
What did you see in the video? (An: Pandas.)
②. Ss listen and repeat. Then answer the questions.
Q: What do pandas love? (An: Birds./ Bamboo)
Q: What can you see in the zoo? (to recall Ss’ memories and let Ss get ready for the topic about animals)
(T complete the title of this Unit: Pandas love bamboo./birds. with Ss answers.)
Ss read the title together.
M7U2②
①.Ss look through some of animals quickly. Then talk about what animal they saw. (attention: sheep)
Q: Do you like …? Why?/Why not?
②.Listen to the text and match. (match the animals with the proper pictures.)
③.Listen, repeat and check the answer.
④.Talk about the 6 kinds of animals.
Q: What do …like/love? (T asks Qs about the first 2 then encourage Ss to ask Qs just like the T does.)
(T shows some examples to compare the differences between like to do and like doing.)
4. Practise: talk about animals.
① Talk about bears
Use some Qs to introduce some details of bears:
What do they like?
When do they sleep?
Where do they live?
What are they like?
Ss answer the Qs one by one. T introduces some new words the
