Furthermore, it is also highly unlikely that this incremental trend will revert its behavior in the near future and start describing a completely different pattern (diminishing). The rate of homicides recorded in Venezuela in 2006-2022, has been shown to be higher than the number of people killed in the world’s most recent armed conflicts. In fact, a special report written by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2022, ranks the country in 1st place in the world, in firearms caused deaths (22,15 per 100.000 people). As a consequence of the previously described situation, Venezuela is currently considered as a “High Risk” location by both: most security consulting firms and governments.
