Today I’m very glad to come here and share some teaching ideas with you.My topic is in Gulliver in Lilliput from Unit 5.This is a reading lesson. This is an extract from a famous novel book Gulliver in Travels. This is an important lesson. If students can learn this lesson well, it is helpful to learn the other parts of this unit. From this lesson, students will read an extract about Gulliver in Lilliput. I will ask students to complete some tasks to help them to understand the article.Students are expected to improve their reading abilitiesand learn to be a thoughtful reader. What’s more, students also should learn how to cooperate with others. To achieve these teaching aims better, I will use the methods of Teaching and expressing Plan. Before the class, I will divide the whole class into several groups.In each group, students are in different numbers. That is No.1,2,3,4,5,6.No.1 is the team leader. In this way, students can work with different partners and work in their groups.They can learn to help each other and cooperate with others. Next, I am going to mainly talk about teaching steps. Step 1 Lead-in Task 1.Free talk T:(1)Are you interested in reading stories? (2)What stories have you read? (3)Why do you like them? The purpose of this is to know what books do students like to read.And this is helpful to arouse students like students’ interest in books. Task 2.the background of the novel The story we’re going to read comes from the English novel Gulliver’s Travels.Show a picture of the novel to Ss T: Have you read this book before? S:Yes/No. T:Do you know the writer? Do you want to know more about this book? His ship crashed against the rocks. The ship couldn’t continue moving.
