Module 5 Cartoons
Unit 2 Tintin has been popular for over eighty years.
Step 1 warming up
Watch a video and answer questions.
1.Do you like cartoons?
2.Do you know the Chinese name of the cartoon hero in the video?
Show 5 pictures and choose the hero in the video and learn its English name-- the Monkey King.
Ask a question : Which of them do you know?
Read the passage quickly and match the pictures with their names.
Step 2 Learning aims
From the warming up, we can know the learning aims.
1.Read the passage, learn the words and phrases about cartoon heroes.
2.After learning the passage, we should know how to introduce(介绍) a cartoon hero and share your favourite one with others.
Step 3 Reading
Read the passage and find out what do they look like.
Nemo — a cute orange-and –white fish.
Shrek — an ugly green man.
The Monkey King— a strong brown monkey.
Snoopy — a cute dog.
Tintin — has red hair and a small white dog.
Give students 2 minutes to remember the introductions and have a check.
Step 4 Reading
Read paragraph 1and answer questions .

2.What’s their influence(影响)?
