Unit2 My Favourite Season B Let’s talk Teaching contents: B Let’s try Let’s talk Let’s find out Teaching aims: 1. Enable the Ss to listen and speak the sentences: What’s your favourite season? Spring/… Why do you like spring/…? Because I can plant trees/… Use these sentences in real situations. 2. Enable the Ss to listen and tick the right answers of Let’s try. 3. Enable the Ss to work in small groups to finish Let’s find out. 4. To cultivate the Ss’ sense of environment protection and their spirit of co-operation. Teaching points: Key points: To use the sentences: Why do you like…?Because I can… to talk about their favourite seasons. Difficult points: To describe the reasons correctly. Teaching aids: Teaching pictures , photos of some super stars , tape and cassette , a picture of the teacher’s favourite season Teaching procedures: StepⅠ Warm-up 1. Sing a song ‘What’s Your Favourite Season?’ 2. Review the verb phrases. 3. Free talk: T asks some Ss’ favourite seasons. StepⅡ Presentation 1. After the free talk, T leads the Ss to ask the teacher: What’s your favourite season? T: Summer. Beacause I can swim. T repeats the sentence and write it on the board. Teach the word ‘because’. Then T continues: I like summer. Who likes summer,too? T: Why do you like summer? Repeat the questions intentionally and write it on the board. Pay attention to the word ‘why’. 2. T asks 3-4 students to practise the new sentences. Then show out a board be written like this: A: What’s your favourite season? B: Spring/… A: Why do you like spring/…? B: Because I can plant trees/… Work in pairs to practise this dialogue. 3. Show out the pictures of ChenJie and Sarah. Let the Ss guess which season do they like best? Then listen to the tape and find out the answers. T: Why does ChenJie like winter? Why does Sarah like spring? Listen to the tape again and find out the answers. Step Ⅲ Practice 1.
