1.1The effective cases of earthquake predication research
Before Wenchuan event of 2008,many scientists and amateurs have made earthquake forecasts on longterm ,intermediate-term ,short-term and impending scales.Their successful efforts mark the dawn of successful prediction to major earthquakes in China mainland. Here we present five kinds of their prediction work that are suggestive.
Li Junzhi, Professor at the Earthquake Institute,Beijing University of Technology
In recent years, he and his team have succeeded in earthquake forecasting by the multidiscipline method, including 25 events on year-scale and 13 impeding shocks.They used non-conventional technology to observe some precursors of subsonic waves,earths micro-trembles and pulses of terrestrial current. They found the primary frequency of subsonic waves before earthquakes. Their discoveries on terrestrial current pulses can be employed as well as eruptions of volcanoes. The scanning technique based on terrestrial information developed by his team can predict locations of earthquakes accurately.
Case1:Suceessful prediction to earthquakes at Jiashi,Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region
Case 2:Successful prediction of the Miyake Ji ma,Japan earthquake
Case 3:Denying that a M7.3 shock would attack Beijing

They found obvious precursory HRT wave anoma1ies recorded by the PS.1 00 terrestrial current meter at the Hongge(HG) Station ,Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province 465km away from Wenchuan.From the night ll May 2008 to six o’clock next morning.that 8h prior to the M8 event,the relative amplitude of the earth electric resistivity on the instrument was up to 1%, exceeding 10 times than the usual standard deviations,recognized as HRT wave anomalies(Fig.4)
