Distinguished judges, ladies and gentlemen: Good morning. It’s my great honor to be here and share my design of the lesson with you. Here is my presentation. First of all, let me introduce the analysis of the teaching material. The content of my lesson is reading part---colors and moods, which is taken from u2, colors, in the English book 9A. As we know, reading is the main body of the whole unit and it serves as the important resource of language input, so this lesson plays an important role in the whole unit. My target learners are grade 9ss, who are quick in thought and curious for English learning. According to New English Curriculum, our teaching should be Ss oriented. So, a variety of tasks and activities such as pair work, group discussion and team competition will be adopted to develop Ss awareness of cooperation and competition. Based on the analysis above, here come my teaching objectives. As we know, the important goal in teaching English is to develop Ss’ listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, and for this lesson specifically, Ss should be able to: Master some words and expressions like influence, whether, represent, require, cheer sb. up, have difficulty in doing sth. Apply the expressions such as green with envy, remind sb. of sth. to talk about colors and moods. 3 Use the power of colors to change their moods. During the whole class, I consider my teaching focus is the understanding of the text, and the teaching difficulty is the object clauses introduced by that. eg: Some people believe that colors can influence our moods. For breaking through the teaching focuses and difficulties, I’d prefer to adopt 3 teaching methods: task-based language teaching method, the Communicative approach and the Natural Approach. As for the teaching aids, multimedia computer, the blackboard and some pictures will be used to make my class more direct and convenient. Now, let’s come to the teaching procedures including 5 steps.
