Clauses of EN 60204-1 Electrical Safety In addition to being evaluated for conformity to the Essential Health and Safety Requirements of the Machinery Directive, the NAME PRODUCT has been inspected for conformity to the voluntary standard, EN 60204-1 : 1997 - Safety of machinery- Electrical equipment of machines. [ IEC:1997+A1:1999 ] This evaluation is, generally, a review of the electrical construction, with less focus on the guarding, mechanical, and non-electrical safety aspects of the equipment. The electrical evaluation considers the following types of hazards: Failures or faults in the electrical equipment resulting in the possibility of electrical shock or electrical fire; Failures or faults in control circuits (or components and devices associated with these circuits) resulting in malfunctioning of the machine; Disturbances or disruptions in external power sources as well as failures or faults in the power circuits resulting in the malfunctioning of the machine; Electrical interference (e.g. electromagnetic, electrostatic, radio interference) either from outside the electrical equipment or internally generated; Stored energy (either electrical or mechanical); Audible noise at levels that cause health problems to persons. The following checklist follows the order of EN 60204-1 : 1997, but is in an abbreviated form. The full language of the standard provides additional allowances in some aspects, and imposes additional requirements in other aspects. This evaluation has been completed with all of these additional allowances and requirements in mind.
