A review of the University’s marked progress over the past decade despite various challenges fills us with enormous pride, a sense of satisfaction of knowing our hard work has paid off, and greater confidence in the University’s future. Ever since its foundation, the Macao SAR Government has been rendering unreserved support to local universities in order to ensure healthy and sustained development of higher education. Through a decade’s development, UM not only has established effective and scientific teaching, research and management systems, but has also made great strides in terms of teaching and research facilities, faculty team development, teaching quality, and overall competitiveness. Such accomplishments would not have been possible without the joint efforts of academics and students of the University, including all graduates who are present at today’s Congregation. I would like to take this opportunity to express my deep respect and sincere gratitude for your hard work! I would also like to congratulate the recipients of degrees at different levels on their succes
