The Usage of the Past Participle

过去分词(the _________ ___________)可以在句中作__________(attribute), ___________(predicative),________________(object complement)和__________(adverbial).
一、作定语
Eg: 1. So many thousands of terrified people died every time there was an outbreak.
2. He found that it came from the river polluted by the dirty water from London.
=He found that it came from the river which was polluted by the dirty water from London.
3. The man selling books is my uncle
=The man who is selling books is my uncle.
归纳:1)过去分词可以作__________(attributive). 单个分词作定语时,一般放在被修饰词的________, 叫做________定语,(如句1)。过去分词短语作定语,一般放在被修饰词的_________,叫做___________定语,且相当于一个_________从句,(如句2)。
2)过去分词作定语,常含有_________意义,且表示动作已经__________,现在分词作定语,含有___________意义,且表示动作正在进行。
二、作表语

归纳:过去分词作___________(predicative)时,表示主语的状况,状态或思想感情。
