In the master CCU both the master and local blocks execute, whereas in the slave CCU only the local blocks execute. When the driver inserts the driver’s key in the cab the following sequence is started: 1)????? The Active cab input is detected by a Digital Input/output unit (DX) 2)????? The Active cab status is sent over the MVB from the DX unit to the Train Control CCU 3)????? The definition and configuration software in the Train Control CCU performs a number of controls (for instance that all critical devices on the local MVB are all functioning and that no other cab is active in the train). 4)????? The Train Control CCU sends a signal via the MVB to the Gateway (GW) ordering the GW to perform a configuration of the WTB. 5)????? The GW configures the WTB by sending data to the other Gateways via the WTB. When the WTB configuration is completed the Gateway in the active cab is in the strong master state on the WTB and the other Gateways are slaves. A strong master state of the Gateway means that it is master and the cab is active which prevents another cab activation to result in a new configuration. 6)????? When the WTB configuration is completed and the local Gateway is strong master a signal is sent from the Gateway over the MVB to the Train Control CCU that it is master. 7)????? The Train Control CCU then activates the Master application software in the active cab. When this sequence is completed the train is in the state as shown in the figure above. The strong master state prevents that another cab activation results in a new configuration. When the TCMS is configured with a master and no active cab the Gateway in the last active cab is in the weak master state (see figure on previous page). When the train is in this state and a cab is activated the following sequence takes place: 1)????? The Active cab input is detected by a Digital Input/output unit (DX) 2)?????
