Method Statement for Excavation at Rock Quarry 1. Introduction of Construction 1.1. Introduction of Construction Quarry is located at the right bank of Bung River and is 7km from dam, with a reserve of 1,980,000m3 and quantity of exploitation is about 1,450,000 m3. 1.2 Geological Conditions Burden layer of quarry is mainly primitive forest and diameter of tree is 10-30cm and the trees are about 5-10m high. Average thickness of soil layer is 7.6m and the quantity is about 525,000m3. Layout of Construction 2.1. Layout of Construction Road 2.1.1 The Road Connect with Quarry D18 road: A Zigzag road from certain point of 14D national road will be built, leading to rock storage, workshop of crushed stone and quarry at EL321.00m. Foundation is 8m wide and surface is made of crushed stone and 7m wide. Gradient is controlled within 11%. It is mainly used as construction road outside the excavation scope. 2.1.2 The Road within the Quarry R1 road: It is connected to D18 road and built to EL370.0m from EL321.0m in Zigzag line, as a construction road within excavation scope. Foundation of Zigzag road is 6.5m wide and the surface is made of crushed stone and 6m wide. Gradient is controlled within 10%. Construction road for excavation of layering will be built to working face from corresponding elevation of Zigzag road, along contour line. Its foundation is 4.5m wide and the surface is made of crushed stone and is 4m wide. R2 road: It is connected to R1 road and from EL321.0m in Zigzag line, as a construction road for EL.334~EL.322 excavation.
