More specifically, we introduce why SRU and the OCLC SRW/U tool are employed, and describes the model of embedded services based SRU, the implementation of the SRU interface and the context-based services integration, the modifications of legacy service systems in NSL. Finally, this paper introduces two applications based the SRU server in NSL: the User Desktool and the new website of NSL. They are illustrative examples of how the library community can actively contribute to the scholarly communications process by creating embedded servers using light-weight protocols. With the same techniques described here, other libraries could create their own SRU server and provide the embedded services for their specific needs and audiences. Keywords: Embedded Service, SRU, Service Integration, User-center 1 背景 Web2.0环境下，不但信息资源是泛在的，而且用户需要的信息服务也应该是泛在的，用户希望不离开自己的科研、生活环境就可以随时随地获取需要的所有资源与服务，针对用户科研环境的多重性、综合化发展，针对用户对数字化、网络化、知识化服务需求的不断增长和深化，国家科学图书馆（以下简称NSL）将提升一线科研人员的信息获取与利用能力作为三期创新建设的核心目标，并将构建面向科研用户环境的嵌入式服务体系[]作为一项重要建设内容。所谓嵌入式服务，就是从建设图书馆端的服务系统转向建设用户端服务系统，从基于图书馆工作流驱动转向基于用户工作流驱动的服务组织，支持数字图书馆的资源与服务向科研用户的e-Science、e-Learning、e-Administration、e-Business等数字环境嵌入，使用户无需离开自己的科研环境就可以随时、方便、快捷地检索、获取所需要的信息资源，而这种信息获取过程与用户的个性行为、上下文环境等敏感关联。因此，嵌入式服务也为普遍存在的智能化信息环境建设（Ambient Intelligence）[]提供了一种解决方案。 目前，国家科学图书馆已经建成的多个资源服务系统都采取自定义的数据组
