The Usage of Table wares in western countries Western table wares include knives, forks, spoons, plates, glasses, saucers, napkins and so on. Generally speaking, the saucers are in the center. The fork is on the left with its knifepoint upwards and the knife is on the right with its knife-edge inward. The spoon is put in front of the plate. The meal on the left and the table wares on the right. All kinds of glasses from left to right are the glass for spirit, glass for wine, glass for champagne and glass for beer. Napkin is put beside the plate. The usage of table wares in Chine Chinese tablewares mainly include chopsticks,small dishes,spoons,and bowls.At a dinner party, water glasses are usually put on the top-left of plates,and wineglass on the top-right.Chopsticks and spoons can be put in special covers.Public tablewares are better put over special seats. The arrangement of seats in western countries After the hostess announces the dinner begins, the host will lead the guests take the seats in order and the hostess comes the last. Men and women are sitted separately. The man guest of honor has a priority to take seats and sit on the left of the hostess while women guest of honor sits on the right of the host. Other couples are take their seats by diagonal. The arrangement of seats in Chine In Chinese table manners:The eldly ones should be invited to the seat of honour,then the ordinary guests follow to sit down in turn.Guests need to be quiet without walking around unless they are on something busines,and they can not sit down without hosts invitations.If the host doesnt show any invitations and sit down alone,youd better sit down at the seat which is nearest to the host.
