It describes Scarlet’s strong life attitude facing hardship and social changes. When her home is destroyed and her mother is dead，she shoulders the burden of looking after her relatives for their live, which shows a woman’s kindness and unselfishness in her deep heart. This paper focuses on the analysis of Scarlett’s realism character and her inherent quality. At the same time, this novel gives some suggestions to us as to how we change our ideas to face and adapt to the society full of competitiveness and how we form new values.
