These plant rem ains were put around t he rim of a ronze Z unvessel. After careful sample recovering, they are su ject t o morphological and molecular genetics studies. T he study results show that these plant remains w ere that of rosthorn ittersweet ( Cel as tr us r os thor nianus L oes ) w hich elongs to St aff vine ( Celastr us ) Genus, Celas tr aceae Family . T he reasons w hy this kind of plant w as uried in the tom w ould e that t he people of the Shang Dynasty have known it s medical function, or t hat these ranches and leaves w ere used to cover the grave goods.
