First Conditional Second Conditional 第一、二条件句 The 6 sentences are all talking about: Possible situations in the future (将来可能发生的情形) Let’s read the sentences again and summarize the sentence pattern: If clause: If + Present Simple(一般现在时) Here we introduce a new term: First Conditional(第一条件句) We use the above mentioned sentence pattern to express First Conditional.(我们用上面提到的句型来表达第一条件句) We use First Conditional to talk about possible situations in the future.(我们用第一条件句来表达将来的可能发生的情形) Part1 First Conditional(第一条件句) We use First Conditional : 1.To talk about possible future events which depend on other future events; (根据其他将来事件,将来有可能发生的事件) To be brief, possible situations in the future. The pattern is If clause: If + Present Simple(一般现在时) Let’s practise 1.If it rains, 2.If I pass the examination, 3.If I don’t finish my homework, 4.If the weather is good, You are asked to complete the conditional sentences by talking about yourselves. Other patterns are possible, especially using modal verbs(情态动词)besides the above pattern:(除了上面的句型外,也可用其他句型特别是使用情态动词) eg. If you have time, we can go for a walk this evening. We also use First Conditional: 2. to give someone advice or an order, and to make a suggestion or a request (建议或命令某人做某事,提出建议或请求): Examples: 1.If you feel sleepy, go to bed. 2.If she comes, phone me. 3.If you want an interesting day out, visit the Science Museum. The pattern is: If clause If+Prensent Simple Part 2 Here is a situation: Dan: Would you like to have dinner with me at McDonald’? Julia: If I had time, I would go with you. To answer the question correctly, we need to learn the Second Conditional. We use the Second Conditional: 1.to talk about imagined, impossible or unlikely events in the future: (想象的、将来不可能发生的事) Examples: 1)If the sun stopped shining, plants would disappear. the event is unlikely, and the sentence is about the future 此事不可能发生,句子是关于将来的 2)If I became a MP(国会议员), I would fight for animal righ
