He was born in a poor familly of Zhou in the country of Lu. Mencius The later savent made an great devolopment of the Confucianism ,the most brilliant one is he. He lived from 372 to 289 B.C. As known as another great philosopher,hes articles are still to be on everybodys lips. Xun Zi Xunzi, along with Confucius and Mencius, was one of the three great early architects of Confucian philosophy. In many ways, he offers a more complete and sophisticated defense of Confucianism than Mencius. Xunzi lived toward the end of the Warring States period (453-221 BCE), generally regarded as the formative era for most later Chinese philosophy. * Confucius made many wise sayings in ancient China that helped many people learn about nature, the world, and the human behavior. such as: What you do not want done to yourself, do not do to others. 己所不欲，勿施于人。 Keep what you say and carry out what you do. 言必信，行必果。 Learning without thought is labor lost; thought without learning is perilous. 道不同，不相为谋。 Thus,when Heaven is about to confer a great office on any man,it first exercises his mind with suffering,and his sinews and bones with toil.It exposes his body to hunger,and subjects him to extreme poverty.It confounds his undertakings.By all these methods it stimulates his minds,hardens his natrue,and supplies his incompentencies. 故天将降大任于斯人也，必先苦其心志，劳其筋骨，饿其体肤，空乏其身，行拂乱其所为，所以动心忍性，曾益其所不能。 A thousand mile journey begins with every step.Small streams make a mighty river. 不积跬步，无以至千里；不积小流，无以成江海。 Carve but give up half way, even a decayed piece of wood will not break; carve without stop, even metal and stone can be engraved. 锲而舍之，朽木不折，锲而不舍，金石可镂。
