13 7 23 7 10 3 43 7 STUDY ON ALEURONE LAYER THICKNESS AND MICRO-CELL STRUCTURE OF MICRO-ENDOSPERM SUPER HIGH OIL CORNS WuZi-Kai HuangQi-chun ShengYu-Ping Zhou-Qiong Agricultural College, Guangxi University, Nanning 530005, Guangxi ,China 10 corn types were used as materials for the study on the aleurone layer thickness and micro-cell-structure of micro-endosperm super high oil corn (Abbreviation:MEC. ). The results showed as follows: 1The aleurone layer thickness of 3 MEC types were higher than other 7 non- MEC types; 2There was significant difference in aleurone layer thickness between 3 MEC types and 7th common high oil corn and 10th common flint corn ; There was very significant difference between micro-endosperm corn and those two corn types; 3There was very significant positive correlation between aleurone layer thickness of 10 corn types and kernel oil percentage and OSK oil percentage; and there was very significant negative correlation between it with kernel weight and OSK weight. 4The cell of the aleurone layer from 3 MEC types were thick column sectionsand that of other 7 non- MEC types were thin ones. micro-endosperm corn; aleurone layer; micro-cell-structure
