1. What is CIP? As we know, hygiene considerations are of utmost importance in the food manufacturing process, so cleaning is considered as an integral part of food production. 1. What is CIP? In closed equipment consisting of pipe systems、tanks、process apparatus, and so on. The single step of the cleaning procedure can be carried out by pumping the different cleaning solutions through the equipment. The equipment in the production line need not to be taken apart. 2. Three types in CIP systems. single-use CIP systems (单次使用的CIP系统) reuse CIP systems (重复使用的CIP系统) multi-use CIP systems (多次使用的CIP系统) 2. Three types in CIP systems. In CIP systems, the solutions are used only once in the single-use CIP system; If the solutions are recovered and stored, it is the reuse CIP system; and the multi-use CIP is a combination of both systems. 2.1 single-use CIP systems 2.1 single-use CIP systems Advantages: lower investment shorter feeding pipeline Disadvantages: higher running cost 2.2 Reuse CIP system 2.2 Reuse CIP system 2.2 Reuse CIP system Advantages: lower running cost Better personal safety Disadvantages: higher investment long pipe work for supply and return has to be installed 2.3 multi-use CIP system These disadvantages of single-use and reuse CIP systems can be overcome by the use of decentralized multiuse CIP systems in which local small standard units are placed close to groups of equipment to be cleaned, but they are fed with detergents from a centrally placed storage unit. After having been used in the local multiuse CIP unit, the detergent is returned to storage. 2.3 multi-use CIP system 3.
