Abstract:A dualwavelength Erdoped fiber laser based on polarization hole burning (PHB) of multi
mode fiber isproposed.The structure of single mode fiber (SMF)multimode fiber (MMF)SMF makes
reflection modes in different polarization directions of MMF split.Thus, dualwavelength laser output is
realizedthroughPHB.Moreover,the wavelengthspacing can alter through changing thelengthof MMF.
In this paper,theoutput characteristics are compared whena MMFwith length of 1.6m and 3m are in
troduced,respectively.The results indicate that the output wavelength spacing becomes smaller but the
output power increases when the lengthof MMF increases.Finally, a stable dualwavelengthwith 55dB
extinction ratio,53 dB side mode suppression ratio and - 2 dBm output power is realized through the
PHB andthe influence of polarizationdependent isolator (PDI) and polarization controller(PC).
