Abstract:Highly.orderedself-assembledTiO,nanotubearrayshavebeenformedbyelectrochemicalanodizationmethodonapure
titanium sheetatroom temperature.Scanningelectron microscopy and X-ray diffractionspectroscopy wereused to study the
microstructuresandmorphologiestoidentifytheunderlyingnanotube—arrayformationmechanism.Degradationofmethylorange(MO)
bythenanotubea~ayswasperfomr edtoevaluatetheirphotocatalyticproperties.Theeffectsofthethemr al·treatmenttemperatureand
pHvalueonthephotocalalyticeffeciencyhavebeendiscussedindetail.ThebestefficiencyofMO degradationcouldbeachievedby
theTiO2nanotubesafterthermalannealingat400。C,wheretheremovalofMO was87_3% in90ra inatpH 1undertheultraviolet
lightillumination.
